Inclusion matters: Creating a welcoming workspace for all

No matter who you are, and no matter what you do, feeling welcome and valued when you walk through the doors at work means the world. That’s why Diversity & Inclusion has, rightly, become a hot topic for every business.

If you’re a regular DeskLodger then you already know how we do things. Everyone working side by side, mucking in together, and having fun. From knuckling down in the offices, to cavorting in the kitchen. We welcome everybody, from any background, whatever their beliefs, race, gender, culture, sexual orientation… You get the idea.

You see, empowering people to be the best version of themselves is something we’re super proud of. Here are five ways we promote diversity & inclusion in DeskLodge workspaces.

Regular catch ups: We already arrange social gatherings for all DeskLodgers, like breakfast and evening socials. But feel free to do even more yourself! The more time we spend around each other, the better it is for our well-being.

Accessibility: We’ve gone to great lengths to make sure everything is accessible for everyone.

Support from the team: Our hosts are always there to support you and your team. And their door is always open. In fact, most of them don’t even have a door. So if there’s anything bothering you, then they’re all ears.

An open environment: We’ve worked hard to create an honest and transparent workspace. So if there’s a way you want to be referred to from a gender pronoun point of view, for example, then we hope you feel comfortable enough to let us know.

We’re all on the same page: Even our hiring policy reinforces this belief, by encouraging diversity throughout the team and embracing everyone’s unique backgrounds.

Our mission is to build an engaged, supportive and collaborative community. Thanks for coming along for the journey.
