Modular creates digital experiences for specialist audiences - combining deep human insight with cutting-edge technology to help organisations connect more meaningfully with their users.
Since joining DeskLodge, their team has grown exponentially, building a portfolio of incredible clients (some of whom they first met here!) and a brilliant Bristol-based team of experts across research, design and development.
As they continue to grow through 2025, Modular is expanding its client base and embracing emerging technologies.
We asked them a few questions:
Modular is a human centred design agency. We design digital experiences for specialist audiences. Utilising our human centred research and modular design methodologies, we balance human needs with technology, to create amazing customer experiences that deliver exceptional commercial value.
Since joining DeskLodge back in 2016, we have evolved a lot as a business. Our portfolio of clients has grown exponentially - many of whom we met through connections made from being DeskLodge residents - including helping DeskLodge themselves for a period!
During that time, we have also curated a really fantastic core team. Human centred strategy underpins everything we do and that has been baked into every role, from researcher to designer to developer. Each team member is a highly experienced seasoned consultant, an expert in their field. We simply could not do what we do without their amazing creativity, skills and experiences.
Over the next year, our focus continues to be on growth and new technology.
We work with future thinking organisations seeking deeper engagement with their audiences and greater value from their digital endeavours. Our clients tend to be a mix of startups, scale ups and third sector orgs, from a range of industries - science, retail, publishing, membership orgs…so we don’t service one siloed industry, rather we meet the needs of organisations whose audiences or customers have very specific niche needs and requirements.
Balancing human needs with technology is more important today than ever.
As we grow, we strive to ensure we adapt new and emerging technologies whilst never forgetting the humans we are designing for - always taking into account emotional, physical and environmental needs to design and create outstanding customer experiences built on human context.
We’re bringing new clients into the portfolio every month, so as our portfolio of clients continues to grow, we are looking to expand our Bristol based core team of designers, developers and project managers. We’ll soon be needing more room…
Over the last 9 years Desklodge has been a fantastic hub for the Modular team.
We love the flexibility the space provides. Having access to a mix of meeting room spaces, booths and workplaces means we can scale up and down as we need depending on the requirements of each day.
That said, I could not talk about DeskLodge without mentioning how marvellous the team is - so helpful, friendly and full of positive vibes and energy.
