Meet Wahab from Codasip, our May DeskLodger of the Month 👏
An engineer at heart, Wahab is all about curiosity, problem-solving and constantly building on what he knows. Whether he’s deep in technical work or stepping outside his bubble for a fresh perspective, he’s a great example of how our community helps people stay grounded, keep learning and do their best work.
Why did you choose your role/industry?
I've always been drawn to work that lets me solve problems and stay curious. Engineering is generally built on ideas stacking on top of each other - you focus on one part, but it only works when it fits into a much bigger system. I like that there is always scope to learn and develop something new, even as you build depth and expertise in one area.
What is the most surprising part of your job?
It is sometimes surprising how you suddenly realise or notice the depths of your knowledge or its limits through interaction with others - whether that's colleagues, peers or people who work in completely different areas. It reminds you that you know more than you give yourself credit for, but never everything.
What are your plans for your career path?
I would like to keep developing my skills, expanding into other areas I have gaps in, while continuing to contribute, influence, and help in areas where I can add value and support others.
How does DeskLodge help you do your job?
DeskLodge provides a friendly, accessible place to work with wonderful facilities. Being a co-working space, sometimes interacting with other workers outside your technical bubble keeps you a bit grounded
Are you remote, on-site or hybrid?
I am hybrid, but I like coming into the office almost every day to have some face-to-face interactions with my colleagues, and it also gives a bit of structure.
