Marketing Assistant at Rubies, Tramaine Berry has made their mark on DeskLodge House since they joined us last October.
With their dedication to fancy dress, enthusiasm for a DeskLodge social and general wonderful demeaner around the building, they are a worthy winner of the title of DeskLodger of the Month for August 2025.
We asked Tramaine a few questions about their work, and why they have found their perfect workspace at DeskLodge.
I chose to do a marketing apprenticeship with Rubies to help shape my future in Marketing and Design. I was looking for an industry I could really specialise in, and the costume industry stood out as something different from the other fields I’ve worked in before.
The most surprising thing is that, after over a year working with Rubies, I still get excited about what I do. There’s never a dull moment, and that keeps me motivated.
I want to continue in the costume industry and expand my learning further. For now, I’m happy working with the brand team and occasionally volunteering my design skills to community projects. The future is very uncertain, but I’m really looking forward to seeing what creative opportunities the future holds for me.
DeskLodge encourages me to communicate with new people through social events, which has improved my people skills and how I communicate with my team. The space itself creates great opportunities for my hybrid team to catch up —whether in the office, meeting rooms, or shared spaces.
Did I mention the free coffee? The first thing I do when I arrive at Desklodge is dart straight to the coffee machine — essential for anyone with an early commute to Bristol.
