DeskLodger of the month - April

This month’s DeskLodger of the Month is… (drum roll)… Adam Butler of BBC Maestro! Adam is Chief Technical Officer, driving his team forward as they help people follow their passions and dreams in life. Discover the best bits about Adam’s job, his favourite space at DeskLodge, and what he does when he’s not ‘plugged-in’ to the technological space.

What do you/your company do?

I'm the CTO at BBC Maestro, our mission is to enable people to discover and hone their passions with inspiration from the most credible talent in the world. We host online courses taught by people like Mark Ronson (on Music     production) and Julia Donaldson (on writing children’s picture books).

What is the best thing about your job?

What I love about my job is being surrounded by a group of super talented engineers, product  people, designers and creative studio all working towards helping people develop themselves.

How do you stay motivated and productive?

I also try to learn new things regularly, which helps to keep me sharp and inspired. I also like to spend time around communities like the Desklodge community, coworking meetup groups and other tech communities.

Where is your favourite place to work at DeskLodge?

I really like the collaborative workspace on the third floor. The vibe there is awesome, and has some nice comfy sofas.

What's the most valuable piece of advice you've been given in work/business?

The best advice I've ever gotten in business is to stay curious and never stop learning. The world is constantly changing, and it's essential to keep up with the latest trends and technologies to stay ahead.

What do you do in your spare time?

When I'm not working, I love exploring creative coding and photography. Spending time with my family and travelling to new places is also something that I enjoy.
