Herdify came to DeskLodge through a recommendation – and we’re so glad they did. What a clever bunch they are! A heady mixture of data scientists, salespeople and marketers, Herdify uses a brand’s sales data to generate insights, and then work out where new ‘brand-loyal’ communities are forming. It’s pretty complex stuff, so you’ll have to corner them in the kitchen for a deeper dive! Who are Herdify?
That’s a big question! We like to kick this kind of question off with a more important lens - how we help our customers. Most of our customers are ecommerce marketers whose growth has stalled, who are perhaps bored of the same old strategy, whose results are unpredictable from month-to-month.
Our AI helps them to transform their brand communities into exponential brand growth. What do we mean by that? Well, communities are so much more than social media, loyalty programmes and referral codes. Communities are streets, towns and cities where word-of-mouth is driving more revenue than any marketing efforts.
We detect where a brand’s communities are forming in the real world, and help them to harness and amplify the effects of those communities.
As for us as a team, we’re a mixed bunch ranging from data scientists and salespeople to marketers and our CEO, AKA our head herder. Contrary to popular belief, we’re not all obsessed with cows (although you might spot the odd animal print in our office from time-to-time), but the one thing we have in common is our obsession with food (mostly chicken wings and noodles).
What does Herdify do?
Remember that community detection thing? We have a very clever team of data scientists who’ve spent 15 years creating a model that takes a brand’s sales data, feeds it through our portal and generates a series of insights on where those communities are forming. (Look out for our lead data scientist Ed, who’s at DeskLodge most days). We call it pandemic science flipped on its head – come and talk to us about that one!
Those insights can help a brand to increase brand recall, reduce customer acquisition costs and improve their category positioning – all by directing their marketing efforts to the locations where they have strong communities.
What are your plans for 2023?
It’s already been an incredibly exciting year for us – we've doubled our team, brought on some brilliant new customers and strengthened our product offering to really work for our customers.
Looking ahead to the rest of 2023, we’re planning some big data science projects with a number of ecommerce businesses, expanding our product into Europe and bringing in some of Bristol’s best as new hires.

It’s probably clear by now that at Herdify, we love a good recommendation from our community! Several people recommended DeskLodge to us and we’re so happy they did. We love that there’s so much going on, and as we’re keen to connect with lots of people in the ecommerce community, we seem to be ideally located to meet people – plus it’s super-easy to host meetings here.
